New year, new prices: The fuel at the gas stations has become more expensive again. The ADAC recommends refueling in the evening. That’s easy on the wallet.
Fuel prices at German petrol stations rose over the New Year. A liter of Super E10 now costs an average of 1.743 euros, which is 5.7 cents more than in the previous week, as the ADAC announced on Wednesday. In the case of diesel, the jump in price was less, the liter rose by 3.4 cents to 1.850 euros.
The ADAC emphasized that the price of crude oil fell slightly compared to the previous week. The Automobile Club advises motorists to refuel in the evening between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. “If you fill up in the morning hours, you have to pay about twelve cents more on average.”
At the beginning of the Ukraine war in February 2022, fuel prices had peaked at EUR 2.20 for Super E10 and EUR 2.32 for diesel. In the last few months of the year, prices fell far below these levels.
