Divided by region, the area that shows the strongest hiring expectations is the Argentine Northeast (NEA), with an ENE of 20%, while Patagonia reports the weakest intentions, with an ENE of 1%.

“The expectations of the Argentine business community for the first quarter of the year reflect a slight growth in hiring intentions, despite a context of possible global economic recession and a local situation marked by drought, difficulties in some sectors to import inputs and the uncertainties typical of an electoral year” reflects Luis Guastini, General Director of ManpowerGroup Argentina.

The result was obtained after surveying more than 700 Argentine employers, between October 13 and November 25.

Of the 700 respondents, the results showed that “37% of surveyed employers plan to increase their staffing, 22% decrease them, 38% do not expect to make changes and the remaining 3% do not know if they will make them during the period surveyed. “, they indicated in the survey.

On the other hand, they added that the sectors that reported the weakest hiring expectations are Health and Life Sciences with an ENE of -7%, followed by Consumer Goods and Services that reflects an ENE of 2%.

Globally, in America, the survey reported that the eleven countries surveyed expect increases in their hiring expectations for the first quarter of 2023, with Panama standing out 39%, followed by Costa Rica 35%, Canada 34% and Guatemala 38%.

“The value of the ENE is obtained by taking the percentage of employers that expect to increase their workforce and subtracting the percentage of those that project a decrease during the next quarter,” they concluded.
