Aluar resumed 100% of its production level at the Madryn plant

Aluar resumed 100% of its production level at the Madryn plant

In this way, the company completed a process that began on March 19, 2020, when it was forced to take the first measure of reduction of operations due to “a significant decrease in the levels of staff assistance that will make the operation of activity” due to the pandemic. At that time, he decided to “execute a 25% reduction in our production.” And he argued: “The decision adopted will allow it to continue operating at a lower level of production, with a higher level of safety given the prevailing conditions. When the situation normalizes, we will seek to resume the usual levels of production.”

However, far from improving, the health situation worsened and forced Aluar to adopt more drastic measures. Just a week later, on March 25, 2020, he informed the CNV that “given the situation of the covid 19 pandemic and prioritizing the care of personnel and complying with the objective established by DNU 297/2020 and Administrative decision 429/ By 2020, to minimize activity and staffing as much as possible, an additional reduction of 25% of our aluminum production in Puerto Madryn will be carried out, bringing the plant to 50% of its capacity”.

On December 29, 2020, the situation had already begun to reverse, reaching a production capacity used of “approximately” 70% “as a result of the process of enlisting and restarting the primary aluminum production capacity, released in March of this year. when the covid 19 pandemic began. And he added: “Production schemes will continue to be gradually sought to partially restore the use of the remaining capacity, clarifying that” the speed and amount of the restart will depend on the evolution of the context that allows a safe and sustainable operation of incremental production ” .

This situation lasted until December 14, 2021, when in another notification to the CNV, Aluar announced that “the facilities stopped during the pandemic will begin to operate, until full production capacity is reached at the Aluar industrial plant in Puerto Madryn, an operation that -given the characteristics of the aluminum production process- will last for a period of no less than 6 months”.
