The Adolf Adam Prize is not a science prize like any other: The jury is the audience, at this year’s edition of the IT Prize there were 450 high school students from all over Upper Austria.
Maximilian Heisinger took first place with his presentation on the topic “Proofs of programs – together it’s faster”, in which he dealt with automatic problem solvers.
He had to assert himself against thrilling competitors: Daniel Hofer took second place. The student from Ried im Innkreis presented his master’s thesis on “Electricity without a grid – how can solar energy be used intelligently in all weathers?” Before.

In it he dealt with circuit management. “I wrote an algorithm that evaluates, for example, which devices are switched off first when there is little sunlight – for example the light in front of the refrigerator,” says the 29-year-old.

In his lecture, Rudolf Hanl from Linz dealt with the possibility of digitally recording different variants of pieces of music – for example for beginners, advanced players and professionals. “It was incredibly exciting to see the variety of lectures,” he says.
