Million bankruptcy of the Puckinger RTI

OÖN readers have known the problem for a week: The RTi sewer sanitizer based in Pucking cannot provide the due corona aid and deferrals in a timely manner and is therefore entering a sanitation process. Today, Monday, the application was made to the regional court in Linz, reports the creditor protection association Creditreform.

The facts about the procedure: 347 creditors are affected and are waiting for their money. This also includes the 123 employees who no longer received their wages in January. The liabilities amount to 9.5 million euros. According to Creditreform, 8.169 million are urgently due.

As reported, the history of the company goes back 41 years. RTi emerged from the sewer rehabilitation activities of Rabmer Bau from Altenberg. This segment was Sold to the Japanese Sekisui Group in 2011. When he wanted to discontinue his European business, managers and investors got on board. In 2016 the name was changed to RTi. The company found a new home on a former company site in Pucking, which belonged to the Wels-based FMT Group.

Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, a significant decline in foreign project business had to be accepted in 2020 and 2021, which led to an operating loss, according to the insolvency application. The most important clients of RTi Austria GmbH include the public sector as well as industrial and commercial companies from Lenzing AG to voestalpine, making it one of the market leaders in the renovation sector.

The company offers more than the legal minimum quota of 20 percent, namely 25 percent, payable over two years.
