Entre Ríos suffers the worst loss in 60 years in planted soybeans

The rainfall records in Entre Ríos were among the lowest in the last 60 years in a large part of the province, where the rainfall also reached up to six times less than what it should normally rain.

This scenario of low rainfall and temperatures above normalcaused an almost nullity of water reserves and a marked advance of the drought in the soil of Entre Ríos.

Producers wait for rain to lessen the damage

Therefore, the Stock Exchange highlighted the impossibility of planting and loss of hectares planted with soybeans, approximately 20%, and maintained that more than half of what is implanted is in fair or poor condition, and what is in good condition presents water stress and less development than normal.

Producers report that “it is essential” that there be rainfall in the coming days, otherwise the surface area under fair to bad conditions will “increase.” The phenological state of premium soy it is located from three fully expanded leaves (V3) at the beginning of flowering (R1), with only 2% in a state considered very good, 47% good and the remaining 51%, between fair and bad.

This last sector presents plots with implantation problems, low density of plants per hectare, poor development and severe symptoms of water and thermal stress.

Meanwhile, the second soybean ranges from emergence (Ve) to four fully expanded leaves (V4), with 3% in very good condition, 32% in good condition; and 65% in fair and poor condition.

In the province were detected lots with low number of plants per hectare, and areas where there is no direct cultivation, since the seedlings are born and dry up because they do not have the necessary humidity. Even the plots that are growing have very little development and a great presence of symptoms of water stress and in no case has it been able to close the inter-row.
