This was reported by Doppler in a press release on Tuesday. Doppler achieved a turnover of 1 billion euros in 2021.

More imports from Italy and Slovenia will be needed to deal with a possible shortage of supplies in the first half of this year due to the embargo. The advantage is that Italy can be imported quite easily by ship from overseas, for example. In addition to Carinthia, Doppler also wants to supply Salzburg and Styria with the diesel and petrol from northern Italy.

From Scharnagl, based in Schiefling am Wörthersee (Klagenfurt-Land district), all available employees will be integrated into the existing Doppler organization and nine trucks will be taken over. The brand does not last. Scharnagl is a family business founded in 1941 and now in its second generation. Core competencies were trading, sales and transport of mineral oil products in Carinthia and East Tyrol. The acquisition was signed in December and approved by the Cartel Office in early January.
