As reported, the companies based in Dorf an der Pam (Schärding district) are insolvent. The liabilities amount to around 4.8 million euros. As the credit protection association (KSV1870) announced in a broadcast on Thursday, bankruptcy proceedings have now been opened. A continuation is not planned. A total of 26 employees and 63 creditors are affected.
BMM Retail AT GmbH was founded to set up and operate shops for the sporting goods brand “Under Armour”. There has been a shop in Plus City in Pasching since March 2021, followed by an opening in Seiersberg/Graz in December 2021. Another shop was to be opened in the SCS Vösendorf this September. However, sufficient sales or an increase in customer frequency could never be generated.
Sport Performance Retail GmbH was founded in 2018 to take over a sports shop for bikes and skis. The plan was to generate sales with an online sports shop. The business was modernized, but the necessary sales did not materialize afterwards due to the delivery delay caused by the pandemic, the company explained to KSV1870. The “Sportmatter” online shop was only able to start with a considerable delay, after a year and a half. “However, the positive sales development of the online shop was at the expense of the gross profit and could not compensate for the negative earnings of the stationary trade,” says the press release.
