Alert about the acceleration of food inflation in January

The LCG consultancy report added that “andThe food and beverage index presented monthly inflation of 4.5% average in the last 4 weeks and 5.6% end to end in the same period”.

This survey is added to a similar one formulated last week by the Freedom and Progress Foundation who calculated the January inflation close to 6%.

These projections put in check the claim of the Ministry of Economy to converge towards inflation minor to the 4% in the month of April.

LCG’s work on what happened in the third week of January and as a whole of the previous four, showed that the higher magnifications they met again in vegetables and fruits (6.9%), followed by dairy products and eggs (5.6%) and beverages and infusions.

The percentage of foods surveyed decreased to 22% of the total surveyedbut LCG clarified that in the monthly balance that indicator “continues to accelerate.”

Always according to the evaluation of LCG, five of the 10 study categories are above the 5% average monthly.

Vegetables (8.9%), fruits (8.3%), dairy products and eggs (6.2%), condiments (5.8%), drinks and infusions to consume at home (5.2%). Below are, ready meals to take away (4.7%), oils (4.5%), baked goods (3.5%), sugar (2.2%) and meats (2.2%).
