Agriculture formalized the meat export quota to Colombia

After receiving authorization from Mercosur to a quota of 892,735 tons of meat (higher than the 875,231 of 2022) and verify the proper registration and health authorizations of the applicants, the portfolio conducted by Juan Jose Bahillo authorized their export distributing the allocation to 22 refrigeratorsthe vast majority of which -with the exception of three- had authorizations of 42,828 tons each.

The cuts belonging to said consignments they do not include the so-called “fine cuts” that include the tenderloin, rump point and broad loin not ground or cut into pieces, vacuum packed and labeled, which are governed by another quota.

The tariff preference regimes that Argentina maintains with Colombia, the United States and Mexico for the export of a series of products, were extended for four years earlier this month, after its validity expired on December 31.

They were extended because it was understood that “there are no reasons that motivate a regulatory change”, because the regimes worked “correctly, under clear and simple rules”, and encouraged exports of the quotas of products covered in each case.
