The debate in Congress will raise expand the range of activities achieved by the monotribute tech. It could contemplate professionals who are not directly related to technology, such as artists or scriptwriters who have clients abroad or other activities that use technological means as support.

Currently, strictly speaking, there is a scheme by which professionals can dispose of the dollars they earn without having to settle them in the Single Free Exchange Market (MULC), a general obligation for exporters. It is capped at $12,000 per year. The new mono tech system that the Ministry of Economy will send to Congress expands it to 30,000.

Monotributo tech: the scales and categories of taxpayers

The bill for the new simplified tax regime scheme for service exporters, which will be debated in extraordinary sessions, would have three categories.

According to the information circulating through the halls of Congress, the categories or scales will be:

  • Category 1: will include those taxpayers who export up to US$10,000 per year, that is, an average of US$833 per month, equivalent to US$295,000 at the MEP dollar price updated on Wednesday, January 25.
  • Category 2: it will be for those who invoice up to US$20,000 per year, that is, an average of US$1,666 per month. In pesos at MEP value it would mean around $590,000.
  • Category 3: will be the highest, enabled up to an annual billing of US$30,000, that is, US$2,500 per month or $885,000 at the MEP price.

Amounts to pay for monotributo tech

The initiative indicates that the three scales or categories will have to pay a unified amount that will include income tax, social work and retirement contributions, as it works for single taxpayers for domestic billing.

In this case, for the tech monotribute there will be three amounts to pay according to the category in which the taxpayer is registered:

  • Category 1: up to $10,000 per year, you will have to pay the equivalent of scale D of the traditional monotribute, which since January pays $9,245 per month.
  • Category 2: up to $20,000 per year, you must pay the amount of those registered to F, which after the last update became $15,712 per month.
  • Category 3: up to $30,000, they will pay the equivalent of the H scale, which according to the AFIP is $31,347.
