Electricity and gas treats: Energie AG lowers prices for new customers

In the course of sharply increased wholesale prices, some cheap energy providers in Austria had to throw in the towel last year. The “top dogs” such as Energie AG Oberösterreich have partially absorbed these customers. Due to additional procurement costs and high prices on the international energy markets for electricity and gas, they could only be offered a significantly higher tariff, writes Energie AG. But they were already assured back then that the prices for new customers would be reduced as soon as the market permitted. Now keep this promise:

In the case of electricity, all new customers (change between December 21, 2021 and January 31, 2023) will automatically be converted to the price for existing customers (32 cents per kilowatt hour) at the beginning of February. With a consumption of 3500 kilowatt hours per year, the savings amount to around 285 euros (including taking into account the electricity cost brake).

In the case of gas, new customers of Energie AG can also switch to the price for existing customers (classic natural gas at 14.35 cents per kilowatt hour). Here the savings for an annual consumption of 15,000 kilowatt hours are 1530 euros.

From February 1, 2023, the price for new customers for electricity will be 37.80 cents and for gas 16.59 cents per kilowatt hour (old new customer prices: 50.29 cents for electricity, 26.59 cents for gas).

Young families among new electricity customers from February 2023 will be given a one-time additional 30 free days by Energie AG. Another 30 days of free electricity are available for a one-year commitment.
