There are again 5,000 euros for private individuals when buying an electric car. Private charging infrastructure is funded with 600 euros for wall boxes and 1,800 euros for communal systems in apartment buildings. A company charging facility is funded with up to 30,000 euros. The purchase of an e-motorcycle is subsidized with up to 1,900 euros. There are changes to the subsidies for plug-in hybrids compared to the past and a separate subsidy track has been set up for regions with few e-charging stations. According to the ministry, applications can now be submitted at environmentfoerderung.at. A total of EUR 95 million is available for the e-mobility offensive this year.
Since the beginning of the year, plug-in hybrids have had to be able to travel 60 kilometers purely electrically in order to be eligible for a subsidy of 2,500 euros. Previously, 50 kilometers were sufficient.
There is a new focus on funding for companies. Subsidies for electric cars for companies are coming to an end. There are multiple tax benefits for companies here, due to the exemption from benefits in kind, the ability to deduct input tax, the omission of the standard consumption tax (NoVA) and the omission of the motor-related insurance tax.
“Traffic is a major lever for more climate protection and more independence from fossil raw materials. This is exactly where we are starting with our successful e-mobility offensive and ensuring a wide range of e-mobility subsidies. Because one thing is clear: the future is on the road electrically,” said Climate Protection Minister Leonore Gewessler (Greens).
