Apart from the fact that collective negotiations will be the decisive element, the Government also has other tools to improve income. In this sense, Raverta confirmed in dialogue with Radio 10 that he is preparing a proposal to expand the universe of wage earners who receive family allowances.
The measure would be implemented through an increase in the income ceiling that the agency considers for the payment of the benefit. It is currently $316,731 for the family group, while the individual cap is $158,366. “We are working on a proposal that has to do with tie the income ceiling to receive the allocations with the profit floor”, Raverta detailed.
If the initiative prospers, all the sons and daughters of formal workers would receive some benefit from the State. Since those who pay the tribute have a deduction and those who are below that floor would receive the payment of the assignment. “Due to parities, wages increase and the ceiling has not been modified. What we are saying is that a solution must be given to that group of boys and girls who do not receive the allowance but are also below the earnings floor”, explained the official.
The initiative would also have the support of the trade union world. The unions, especially the Truckers with Pablo Moyano at the helm, have been asking for a revision of the salary ceiling for the complementary payments of ANSES based on inflation. Since the end of last year, there has even been a dialogue with the Ministry of the Economy, which has studied some proposals in this regard.
They do not rule out a Pension Debt Payment Plan by decree
In the same interview, Raverta referred to the Bill to establish a Pension Debt Payment Plan. Until now, the opposition threatens not to provide a quorum in Congress if the ruling party does not give up moving forward with the impeachment of the members of the Supreme Court of Justice.
Official calculations indicate that some 800,000 people of retirement age could lose access to pension coverage if the initiative is not turned into law. In this sense, the executive director of ANSES, did not rule out that the measure be applied through a decree. “It is something that we are evaluating, although it is not easy. We will continue to dig deeper with creativity and intelligence to see how we do. It is very important that we can allow Argentines to pay off their debt and have a retirement, ”he said before the consultation.
