The energy crisis has accelerated decarbonization, but the complete phase-out of gas has only been possible thanks to years of preparatory work, according to the company. Among other things, reference is made to the geothermal plant in Thalheim, which was the largest in Europe when it opened in 2011, or the new ice storage facility in Sattledt, which with a heating capacity of 8 MW and a cooling capacity of 6.3 MW is also the largest of its kind design in Europe.
