The official specified that for these cases of small businesses “there will be a subsidized block of energy up to 800 kWh per month.”
“This is a policy of continuing to care for those who need assistance from the State, following the accompaniment that the National State has been having with the rates,” said the secretary.
Instead, he pointed out that “for those high segments and those who did not request the subsidy, the increase will be 36% of the cost of energy”, but he pointed out that “the subsidies are still maintained.”
“There has not been a total removal of subsidies because we still have 33% of users who are between the high-income segment and those who did not request the subsidy, and we understand that within that 33% there are families that need the accompaniment of the State and that for various reasons have not been able to request it,” Royon explained.
For this reason, he remarked that they are “working on different actions with the Ministry of Social Development, to search and report properly so that they have the possibility of requesting the subsidy and thus go to a fairer rate scheme, where they can really identify to the high-income segments that can pay the cost of energy to be able to carry out the last part of the removal of subsidies and to go at full cost”.
In that same sense, he stressed that his area is preparing to carry out a “massive campaign” to reaffirm the validity of the Registration form of Access to Energy Subsidies (RASE) and thus, those who have not yet requested an exception for the electric power service they can do it.
“We are going to relaunch, to carry out a massive campaign of the form where you can request the subsidy, the Registration of Access to Energy Subsidies that is still available,” said Royon.
The secretary announced yesterday that in April and June there will be two staggered increases in the bills of electricity users in the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area (AMBA), which for most households will not exceed $400, and that a new hearing will be held in the first days of October to evaluate the rates and investments of the companies.
