Hahn regional airport has been insolvent since autumn 2021 and is to be sold. So far there have been two interested parties, including the Russian investor Viktor Charitonin. Difficult in these times.
The Russian investor Viktor Charitonin has not yet received the green light in a confidential meeting of creditors in the sale of the insolvent Hunsrück Airport Hahn.
After that, insolvency administrator Jan Markus Plathner said without naming the company name that a bidder had not yet received approval. The other has not yet been voted on. Independent of “political discussions” both are “good investors”. So the sales poker continues for the time being. In his own words, Plathner wants to find a solution by March. There are now two other potential buyers.
According to information from the German Press Agency, the NR Holding of the Nürburgring around the Russian pharmaceutical company Charitonin and the Mainz-based real estate group Richter have each independently signed a purchase agreement for Hahn Airport. Both have already paid the purchase price. However, as the owner of the Eifel race track, NR Holding paid more – according to dpa information, around 20 million euros. This means that it could be awarded the contract if the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology does not refuse this under the Foreign Trade Act: Russia is waging a war of aggression against Ukraine.
Originally, Frankfurt-based Swift Conjoy GmbH made the race at Hahn with a top bid – but never paid. So she’s out of the game. The state of Hesse once got involved with a minority stake in the airport. This has been insolvent since autumn 2021.
