Stock exchange in Frankfurt: Dax at the end of trading with a small minus

After a poor start to the week, the German stock market continued to weaken on Tuesday. The Dax closed 0.16 percent lower at 15,320.88 points. Interest rate concerns had already arisen again last week due to strong labor market data from the USA, and investors were now keeping a low profile before a speech by US Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell shortly after the market closed.

The MDax for medium-sized stocks fell by 0.49 percent to 29,179.03 points. The Dow Jones was down slightly on Wall Street ahead of Powell’s speech, while tech stocks on the Nasdaq recovered somewhat.
