In addition, there is a tax and social security-free inflation compensation premium of 2500 euros, also in two stages. The term of the new contract is therefore 20 months.

“With this result, we have succeeded in achieving a socially balanced and sustainable increase in the remuneration tables,” said Verdi negotiator Holger Rößler on Wednesday. BER Human Resources Director Michael Halberstadt described the agreement as “a good and fair answer for our employees and at the same time takes into account the tense economic situation of the company”.

Accordingly, the employees will receive the first increase in income on May 1st – 200 euros more per month. The next level of 160 euros will follow in April 2024. The first 2,000 euros of the compensatory premium will already be paid in March. The remaining 500 euros are available in December. Verdi originally asked for 500 euros more per month and a term of twelve months.
