With the founding of a local energy community in Waldhausen, the Unimarkt Group has taken a first step. This project is to be rolled out. Up to 400 Unimarkt partners could follow the pilot project. Information events are currently taking place.
The principle: the university stores obtain the excess electricity from partners in the energy community. Management and billing is done monthly via a digital platform, private electricity suppliers are paid in cash or with Unimarkt vouchers. Work is in progress on three further concrete implementations.
The entrepreneur Andrea Lehner is applying with a new development that is intended to replace soap, shampoo and shower gel in hotels with powder made from natural cosmetics.
These are two of the many projects submitted for the sustainability award by Oberbank, the state of Upper Austria and OÖN. Some applicants have not yet completed their submission, there is still time until Saturday, 12 noon: nachrichten.at/feronia
