GEINBERG/WALDNEUKIRCHEN. Bang effect in the Raiffeisen cooperative sector: The largest warehouse in Upper Austria parted ways with managing director Stefan Schamberger on Thursday. He was head of the warehouse Innviertel-Traunviertel-Urfahr based in Geinberg for almost nine years.
The company was formed from two mergers in 2018 and 2020 and employs a total of 900 people.
differences of opinion
The warehouse informed the OÖN that he had ended the activity “by mutual agreement with the board of directors and the supervisory board”. Chairman Ludwig Hubauer does not want to say more about it. Schamberger could not be reached.
Dispute is denied, but according to reports there were differences of opinion. The additions of the 46-year-old and those of the officials should no longer have matched. Schamberger may have been looking for a new challenge.
An old acquaintance has been the new sole managing director since Friday: Josef Kainrad. The 65-year-old was the second managing director of the Innviertel-Traunviertel-Urfahr warehouse until March 2022 and only retired ten months ago. Now he jumps in at short notice. He likes doing it, says Kainrad. He says nothing about the background. Just this much: he too was surprised on Tuesday when he was asked to become managing director again. Most recently, however, he was still a consultant.
How things will continue at the top, for example whether there will be two more managing directors and who will succeed Kainrad, will be decided in the course of the year, says Hubauer. Kainrad expects to be boss “beyond this year”. Hubauer praises his “great experience and successful work as managing director and spokesman for the Upper Austrian Lagerhaus managing directors”. The Mettmacher Schamberger as the sole managing director, as was the case for ten months, may also have contributed to the fact that the paths now parted.
result increased
The economic development of the company is very good, stress Hubauer and Kainrad. Sales in 2021 were around 300 million euros, compared to around 370 million in the previous year. According to the company register, the net result in 2021 almost doubled to around 1.34 million euros. In 2022 it should have gone towards two million. The Innviertel-Traunviertel-Urfahr warehouse has 61 businesses, 44 branches and 14 workshops.
Kainrad is from Waldneukirchen, was once a manager at Case and Same tractors, joined the Lagerhaus organization in 1998 and was head of the Kremstal warehouse from 2002, which was merged into several mergers.
