The supermarkets assured that between Thursday and Friday of this week they would finish update and deploy the new price lists validated with Trade in all the mouths of mass consumption, so next week’s survey is expected to give signs of approaching the established pattern.
According to the consulting firm’s weekly survey, the impact of the sustained increase in meat it’s what keeps pushing the index up. next to the fruit and the oil, were the three items with the highest increase in the week. But, undoubtedly, the incidence of meat within the index is the one with the greatest preponderance, adding a 1.12% of the total of 1.8% weekly increase.
The variation of the price of the meat in the study period was 3.6%. They completed increasing above the general average, the fruit with 4.1% and the oils with 3.2%.

A survey carried out by Fundación Mediterránea in the first week of February revealed that the price per kilo of meat was located in $2,267a rise in 27.3% for the third week of January. Members of the sector warn that will keep the increases of prices in the coming months around a 40%.
On the other hand, this week there was a smaller quantity of products with increase with respect to the previous ones, decreasing by 16 percentage points and reaching a 28% of the total basket. In this way, the average of the last four weeks is established at 25%which indicates that in a month all the products in the basket would have at least a price increase.
