However, the merchandise had been labeled in favor of the firm Harlye SA, which after physical verification provided an affidavit to re-label the fabrics on behalf of Tela 770 SRL.

Modality

Initially, seven operations had been confirmed under this maneuver, consisting of 10,200 rolls of cloth —320 tons of merchandise—, worth approximately $550,000.

Indeed, the Federal Administrative Litigation Court 1, in charge of Dr. Alonso Regueira, favorably accepted the proposal of Customs and ordered the lifting of the precautionary measure on the grounds that the company’s actions “could hinder the inspection function of the State”.

Investigation

The Director General of Customs, William Michelhe pointed: “Customs must protect the national industry and Argentine employment, but also avoid maneuvers by which some importers want to earn dollars irregularly and by deceiving the State.”

“We are very satisfied with the action in this file of the Federal Administrative Litigation Court, which analyzed with legal rigor the irregular actions of the company,” he added.

For his part, the Federal Administrator of Public Revenues, Carlos Castagneto, stressed: “This is great news — it is another example of the hard work we have been doing. I am very satisfied with this team that works together, articulating the General Directorate of Customs with the DGI and the General Directorate of Social Security Resources, the Ministry of Economy and the Central Bank”.
