As the executive director of ARBA explained in radio statements, Cristian Girard, the initiative “contemplates the quotas that have expired during the pandemic.”

So, he said, “What will be generated is a tax credit that cancels debts and interests of the installments that have not yet been paid and an available balance for the amounts that have already been paid.”

The measure represents $ 557 million of tax credit generated in favor of these taxpayers, of which $ 343 million correspond to taxes that they could not pay and $ 214 million to payments that were made and that will be returned.

Even that available balance may be used to offset other debts that have been generated by the economic crisis of the pandemic.

Last Friday, the Governor of the Province of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillofannounced the Buenos Aires Tourism Reactivation Program, which contemplates a series of measures to boost tourist activity “with active policies and unprecedented investment” to guarantee the reactivation of the sector in the post-pandemic.

In tax matters, the reactivation implies the deepening of fiscal benefits for the sector, the cancellation of debts, the generation of tax credit, which are complemented with credit, investment and tourism promotion measures.

At the time of making the announcement in the town of Villa Gesell, Kicillof stressed that “The hotel services will not have to pay the property tax and, those who have done it, will have a tax credit to dispose of those resources, since we need tourism to get back on its feet quickly.”

“We are working to recover everything that we came to do before the pandemic arrived: to return the identity, integrity and unity to our province. We have more strength than ever so that the province of Buenos Aires is reborn and the people of Buenos Aires return to meet again, “concluded the president at that time.

To access the benefit, taxpayers must own 50% or more of the property of the enterprise. Likewise, the province will desist from filing claims through the courts that already exist and will even allow the reformulation of payment plans that have already been consolidated in recent months.
