Malpass’s management at the head of the World Bank

malpass came to the helm of the World Bank in April 2019 after having been the head of international affairs of the United States Treasury in the Trump Government.

One of the critical moments of his management was in the middle of last year when he was strongly criticized by the White House for refusing to say he supported the scientific consensus on global warming. He later apologized and reiterated his view that human activity contributes to climate change.

More recently, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen launched a important impetus to reform the functioning of the World Bank in order to guarantee a broader lending to combat climate change and other global challenges.
