Gas supply in Germany: filling levels, imports, exports and consumption

Germany is highly dependent: the majority of the gas required in this country comes from imports, as can be seen on the website of the Federal Network Agency. Only a small part comes from domestic production. Norway overtook Russia as the largest supplier in 2022 after gas flow through the Nord Stream 1 pipeline came to a standstill. The next largest suppliers were Belgium, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic.

Gas storage: Levels in Germany

According to the law, the storage facilities in this country should be 90 percent full by November 1, and the value was increased to 95 percent by regulation at the end of July 2022.
