According to the report, there are approximately 8.8 million girls and boys who experience monetary deprivations or some of the fundamental rights considered in the EPH.
Besides, 3.7 million they face both types of deprivation simultaneously: that is, 3 out of 10 girls and boys live in homes with insufficient income and, at the same time, have at least one basic right violated.
“This situation, which reflects the hard core of poverty, has been going on for more than six years“, is noted in the study called “Monetary poverty and non-monetary deprivation in girls, boys and adolescents in Argentina”.
One of the indicators that most reflects the country’s economic difficulties is also the Index of Consumer Prices, which in January marked 6%, ending a downward streak in the last months of the year. December 2022 had marked 5.1% increase.
Compared to the same month of 2022, the increase was 98.8%, according to the report released by the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INDEC).
Around the world, 662 million children live in poverty.
