They expect more than 90% occupancy in the main tourist destinations

The most demanded destinations for this carnival weekend are those of the Atlantic coast, Entre Ríos, the mountains of Córdoba and Patagonia.

As for the international tourismfrom the Ministry they indicated that this showed a “great recovery” and stressed that it will be felt mainly in the City of Buenos Aires, Iguazú, Mendoza, Salta, Bariloche, Ushuaia and El Calafate.

“We are going to enjoy a great extra-long Carnival weekend, with almost full occupancy in destinations in all regions of the country. This way, we cap off another great summer season, with levels very similar to that of 2022, which was a record”, said the Minister of Tourism, Matthias Lammens.

In the same sense, the president of the Argentine Chamber of Tourism (CAT) expressed Gustavo Hani:”We have high expectations for the extra-long Carnival weekend. This season we come with very high occupancy rates throughout the country and we hope that these dates will finish consolidating the successful summer 2023 that we have experienced”.

He added that there was a great movement in areas that register Carnival activities and in other areas: “In addition to the important movement that we visualize from the Argentine Tourism Observatory (OAT) in the destinations where Carnival activities take placethe main tourist centers of our country will also have a great occupation in the coming days”.

Finally, the president of the CAT highlighted: “Tourism continues to demonstrate that it is one of the most important tools that Argentina has to continue growing, due to the generation of employment and the economic impact that it spreads in each region of the country”.

From the flag carrier they indicated that the number of passengers transported in the country during Carnival will increase by 15% compared to the same period in 2020.
