When analyzing how this tool can evolve in the short and medium term, after the growth it exhibited in 2022, Scioli explained: “Leasing has a lot to grow in Argentina, in relation to other countries it still has a long way to go. What greatly influenced its expansion in 2022 was the growth of SMEs. And that is good, because SMEs are using this instrument, which is very favorable for this industry”.

“In the face of what may happen this year, it will first depend on knowledge, which is a positive point, because its use is expanding. And, on the other hand, it will also depend a lot on the continuity of the support of the Ministry of Industry, as it has been doing up to nowto have accessible lines and to encourage the use of this type of instrument”, he explained to Ámbito.

Scioli also highlighted that, in the medium and long term, the “real estate leasing”. “Whoever invests now has the option of being able to buy a productive property with this type of instrument, which is a great novelty. What is very favorable is the accelerated amortization. It has a very large tax benefit. It is something very new, but it has a lot of potential for the future, ”she remarked.

For example, at the end of January it was announced that the public and private banks and financial companies that are part of Leasing Argentina will offer fixed-rate loans for the acquisition of real estate within the industrial parks registered in the corresponding National Registry (RENPI), or in industrial zones recognized by the local or provincial authority.

This initiative provides for the possibility of acquiring real estate with a fixed rate of 49% for the first 36 months, and payment terms of up to 60 months at the private Badlar ratewithin the framework of the Argentine Credit Program (CreAr), with investment rates from the National Fund for Productive Development (FONDEP).

All in all, Scioli assured that the knowledge one has about this financing tool is key to its growth: “In the sector it is known that whoever had a lease will want to continue having another. This generates a very important snowball for the use of this tool”.
