Contabilium, an online billing and management system for SMEs and entrepreneurs currently used by more than 4,000 SME users, conducted a sales survey for Mother’s Day.
According to the survey, the average ticket for online sales for this Mother’s Day reflects a growth of 26.7%.
While last year the average ticket was $ 4,567.49, in the week of the celebration of Mother’s Day in 2021, the average ticket is so far $ 5,758.22.
The Contabilium report also noted that the billing of online sales of SMEs in the week of Mother’s Day registered an increase of 124.45% compared to 2020.
“Among the most popular categories for this Mother’s Day, mainly footwear, clothing, technology and electronics stand out,” concluded Halfon.
On the other hand, in the country it is celebrated on the third Sunday of October due to the old celebration of the liturgical calendar that remembered the feast of the Motherhood of the Virgin Mary.
The origin of the date is linked to a holiday of the Catholic Church.
In 1931, Pope Pius XI dedicated October 11 to the “Divine Motherhood of Mary” as a reminder that 1500 years earlier, in 431, the Council of Ephesus had proclaimed Mary the true Mother of Christ.
