With this Salary Update Index, the Government of the Province of San Juan guarantees that salaries are at least 5 points above accumulated inflation.
In this regard, the governor of San Juan, Sergio Uñac, said that the Treasury teams had to sharpen the pencil very well since “it is not easy to grant an increase of that magnitude and at the same time maintain the fiscal balance that the province maintains.” . At the same time, he added that “the goal is always that the pockets of the workers do not lose their purchasing power in the face of the inflation suffered by the entire country. But it also forces us to review the annual budget and establish priorities in each area”.
This new salary agreement means a strong impact on the provincial budget. Each point of increase implies the sum of 120 million pesos per month, so that 41.1% adds up to 4,900 million pesos per month. The agreement reached implies the redistribution of budget items, since this increase raises the payroll from $13.500 million to $18.432 million as of March.
The Minister of Finance highlighted that this agreement also establishes that, in the month of July, based on accumulated inflation and independent of the Salary Update Index, the government will call for a review of the salary agreement. Likewise, the Government of the Province of San Juan maintains a permanent dialogue with the union sectors as a State policy.

Set the index value from the salaries for the month of March 2023 at 163.2530, in such a way that the basic salary (A01) of the single-day grade teacher witness position is determined at $66,933.72, the value of the hour medium level lecture $4,462.25 and the value of the upper level lecture hour at $5,577.81.
Index value as of September 2023 wages:
Set the index value, from the salaries of the month of September 2023, at 174.8230, in such a way that the basic salary (A01) of the single-day grade teacher witness position is determined at $71,677.43, the value of the medium level lecture hour at $4,778.50 and the value of the higher level lecture hour at $5,973.12.
Index value from salaries of November 2023:
Set the index value from the salaries of the month of November 2023 at $197.9630, in such a way that the basic salary (A01) of the single-day grade teacher witness position is determined at $81,164.83, the value of the hour medium level lecture at $5,410.99 and the value of the upper level lecture hour at $6,763.74.
One of the best deals in the country
This agreement once again places San Juan among the districts that grant the highest salary increase to state workers. Some examples can be taken from the survey carried out to date.
In San Juan, the increase in salaries in March 2023 will accumulate 41.1% and means 27% over the previous month (February) (10 points more than the parity at the National level and many provincial parities that grant 17 ,5 %). The Ministry of Finance will continue to permanently monitor the flow of collection, and levels of consumption, in order to make projections to maintain fiscal balance.
