“This variation of the IPCBA mainly responded to the increases in the following divisions: Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, Food and non-alcoholic beverages, Restaurants and hotels, Health and Recreation and culture, which together explained the 76.6 % of the rise in the General Level”, indicated from the Government of Buenos Aires.


In the breakdown, Housing, water, electricity and gas registered a variation of 8.5% compared to the previous month, due to adjustments in the values of common housing expenses and rents. Next in importance increases in the residential rate for electricity service. This item registered an interannual variation of 113.6%.
For his part, food and non-alcoholic beverages averaged a 7.7% rise. The main impetus came from meat and derivatives (+15.2%). To a lesser extent, the increases in bread and cereals (+5.7%), milk, dairy products (+6.3%) and fruits (+11.3%) stood out. This item registered an interannual variation of 104.4%.
For his part, restaurants and hotels averaged a rise of 5.9%, as a result of increases in the prices of food prepared in restaurants, bars and food houses. This item registered an interannual variation of 120.8%.
At the same time, health showed a variation with respect to the previous month of 6.8% due to the increases in prepaid medicine fees and the adjustments in the values of medicines. This item registered an interannual variation of 99.5%.
And finally, recreation and culture registered a rise of 8.7%, due to increases in the prices of tourist packages and recreational and sports services. This item registered an interannual variation of 104%.
