New financing program for female entrepreneurs: what it is about

The Industry Secretariat formalized the new program Undertaking Women which will allocate $1 billion to women-led start-ups aiming to enhance the creation and strengthening of new companies that generate improvements of productivity and competitiveness in the productive sectors to which they belong, through Resolution 109/2023 published this Wednesday in the Official bulletin.

As reported, for this benefit $1,000 million will be allocated from the Trust Fund for the Development of Venture Capital (Fondce), which will be granted for order of merit and subject to availability budget.

While, the initiative was publicly presented this Tuesday in an act that counted with the participation of the Secretary of Industry, Jose de Mendiguren; the Minister of Women, Ayelen Mazzina; and the president of AYSA, Malena Galmarini.

“These programs, which offer 100% direct financing for the projects they present, clearly demonstrate the path of Argentina. From the Government we not only present measures, but we put them into practice. We are clear about where we want to go and that the leap to Argentine development be with more equality,” said De Mendiguren.

Registration to Undertake Women

The call will be extended until next May 7 and the financing is aimed at women or entrepreneurship that they are in stages of ideation and start-up, or initial development; and whose object generates added value or contributes to the development of the value chain of the sector to which they belong.

Special attention will be paid to those proposals based on differentiation, innovation, that generate employment or that capitalize on dynamic and scalable economic trends; and those applications accompanied by a Specialized Entity for Entrepreneurial Support (EEAE) will have additional points.

In all cases, Applicants must be registered with AFIP and in the Single Registry of the Productive Matrix (RUMP)in addition to having a Mipyme Certificate.

Goals

The initiative -according to the recitals- is the result of having detected a “growing and sustained participation of women in the different programs and initiatives to support and assist entrepreneurs” which are designed from the various government departments.

Therefore, it aims to “resolve a the need for women-led businesses what do you require economic assistance to start a new production process or consolidate the business” and, at the same time, “promote the autonomy and economic consolidation of women entrepreneurs within the national territory”.

Categories within the program

  1. For women and businesses in the process of turning the idea into a project
  2. To consolidate and enhance a value proposition that has already had more than a year of demonstrable sales

The benefit will cover up to 70% of the total amount of the project and will be between $2 million and $5 million for the first category and between $2 million and $10 million for the second.
