VKB was founded in 1873 on the initiative of Bishop Rudigier. On Thursday, Markus Auer, spokesman of the Board of Management, who had been in office for two years, presented the bank’s new strategy. The entire external presentation is switched to green logos. So far it has been blue. The transition should be completed by September.
This gives you a unique selling proposition in the banking market, said Auer. Green does not mean that you are an eco-bank: “Above all, it stands for the growth of the bank, our customers in the entrepreneurial and private middle class and our cooperative”. Sustainability is a matter of course for VKB and is also reflected in the business.
Auer wants to expand even more outside of Upper Austria. The first branch was opened in Vienna in December. A second location in the federal capital is to follow later this year. A branch will open in Salzburg in July. And a location in Styria is planned for 2024 – in Graz or in northern Steuermark. The business in Vienna, which has been promoted for a year, is developing well with a credit volume of around 100 million euros, said Auer.
The VKB has a total of around 570 employees, 29 branches and more than 20,000 members of the cooperative who own the AG. VKB Supervisory Board Chairman Matthäus Schobesberger said at the presentation that VKB is a stable company that stands on a strong foundation. With Auer and his board colleagues Maria Steiner and Alexander Seiler, there is a new dynamic.
