Billing for sales made through the program now 12 in the first two months of 2023 it reached throughout the country $366,419.8 millionwith a nominal year-on-year rise of 101% per year and 0.2% at constant values, specified the consultancy Politikon Chaco based on data from the Ministry of Commerce.

The entity specified that sales by this modality began the year with “a slight recovery”, after the retraction observed at the end of 2022, with a real rise of 1.2% in January, partially offset by a fall of 0.9% in February.

“It is important to point out that this is the best first two-month period since 2019”, stressed Politikon Chacowho specified that, compared to that year, in constant currency, sales grew by 249.1%, although he clarified that “the comparative basis is very different since the program, at that time, did not have the level of breadth with the one that counts today”, while the real increases were 0.8% compared to the same period of 2020 and 11.7% in relation to that of 2021.

The items with the highest turnover volume for sales were:

  • clothing ($101,391.8 million, 27.7% of the total)
  • home appliances ($93,349.0 million and 25.4%)
  • construction materials and tools ($30,109.9 million and 8.2%)
  • tires, accessories and others ($26,283.7 million and 7.2% share)
  • footwear and leather goods ($22,421.8 million and 6.1%)
  • tourism ($19,789.3 million and 5.4%l)

The first three items concentrated 61.4% of the total sales in the period, while the remaining 29 items total $73,074.3 million in sales, participating in 19.9% ​​of the national total.

In a context of “strong deviations”the consultant pointed out that the item with the greatest interannual percentage increase was that of alarm installation serviceswith a growth of 2,153.6% year-on-year, although with barely $0.9 million in billing, without even reaching the percentage point of participation.

A similar situation is observed in technical services of electronics and appliances (+436.4% and a share of 0.9%), vehicle repair services (+136.5% and 0.005%) and organization services of trade shows and events (+112.7% and 0.01%).

Politikon Chaco highlighted that the item food, drinks, personal hygiene items and hygiene it grew 127.3% and although the volume is relatively marginal in billing (1.2%), it reflects “a purchasing capacity problem”, since “more and more families buy food in installments”.

Among the items with the highest participation, clothing grew 15.5%, household appliances fell 19%, and construction materials and tools fell 11.5%, always in real terms.

In addition, there were four categories that were recently added to the program and therefore they do not have a base with which they can compare their level of sales:

  • cell phones ($4,107.2 million, 1.1% of the total)
  • funeral services ($3.3 million)
  • shows and cultural events ($1.2 million)
  • durable kitchen items ($0.5 million)

CABA and the province of Buenos Aires concentrated 60.4% of the total billing made and if Santa Fe, Córdoba and Mendoza are added, the five districts concentrate 81%.

At the other extreme, the five provinces with the lowest participation in the national total (Santa Cruz, La Pampa, Formosa, Catamarca and La Rioja) concentrate only 1.6% of the country’s total.
