The ACARA report indicates that the year-on-year rise reached 14.2%. Dealers say “it’s a good start to the year” and that more than 400,000 patented vehicles could be reached by all of 2023.

The Association of Automotive Dealers of the Argentine Republic (TO FACE) reported that the number of patented vehicles during March of 2023 amounted to 39,442 units, which represents an increase of 14.2% year-on-year (34,527, March/22).

The monthly growth reached 29.3% since in the past month of February 30,514 units had been registered, although it is worth clarifying that this month had 22 business days against the 18 that February had.

In this way, in the three accumulated months of the year, 120,320 units were patented, this is 12.3% more than in the same period of 2022, in which 107,136 vehicles had been registered.

ACARA’s President, Ricardo Salome commented: “The March figures confirm a good start to the year with double-digit year-on-year growth. We remain certain that if we had had more cars available the numbers would have been higher, and although this makes us regret it is also positive because it leaves a good patent base for April”.

“Increasingly, our sector functions as a store of value and those who adapt to the existing offer take advantage of the opportunity to acquire an asset that is valued and that also becomes an asset that contributes to generating income, in many cases” , commented Salomé, who added that “production is accompanying the growing supply of national models, which today reach 60% of what is demanded, with which we understand that this trend will accompany us during 2023.”

“The release of parts and models that are not manufactured here would complement a larger supply and thus not lose the opportunity to grow even more, since people are demanding it from us today,” concluded the president of ACARA.

Dealers estimate 420,000 patented vehicles by 2023, with the value that this brings to many related industries and that makes the market one of the engines of economic recovery.
