The governments of Cordoba and Santa Fe They took another step in the tender for the construction of the aqueduct that will benefit 410,000 people, with the opening of four economic offers presented by a total of 11 national and foreign companies.
The work in its first stage contemplates the construction of a trunk of 144 kilometers and 345 kilometers of branches. The route will connect the city of Coronda in Santa Fe with the city of San Francisco in Cordoba, and once completed, it will supply the service to 54 towns in both provinces: 33 from Santa Fe and 21 from Córdoba.
As explained by the Biprovincial Executing Unit (UEB) that is carrying out the tender, for the execution of block A there is financing from the Abu Dhabi Sovereign Wealth Fund (Kuwait) for Arab Economic Development. The official budget is $8,889,643,718 and includes the execution of the intake work, water treatment plant, pumping station No. 1, the electrical installation and the first trunk section of the aqueduct and the connection branch to Coronda. The expected execution period is 720 days.

The first historical milestone of this mega-project was achieved on January 30 in San Francisco by the governors of Córdoba, Juan Schiaretti, and of Santa Fe, Omar Perotti, who participated in the first opening of offers and envelopes. Proposal No. 3 was the UTE of Eiling, CRIG (China Railway Engineering Equipment Group Co., Ltd) and the national company Aristar. In this case, they offered $19,501 million for Line 1 and $16,073 for the next one, but they included a letter of discount of 9.725% for the first item and 7% for the second, which implied an improvement in the final prices: $17,604 million and $14,984 million, respectively. With this discount, Proposal No. 3 was better positioned for Line 1 because it is the cheapest offer.
Proposal No. 4 was for the joint venture made up of another Chinese company Gezhouba Group Company Ltd Argentina Branch, Ecosur and Santa Fe Córdoba Aqueduct. In this case, they offered $17,834 million for Line 1 and $14,384 million for Line 2.

The work of Stage I will extend from the water intake on the Paraná River to San Francisco, joining the existing aqueduct network in the northeast area of Córdoba, foreseeing in a future second stage an extension that will allow reaching the capital city. cordovan Phase 1 of Stage I will benefit 17 Santa Fe cities, but with the second phase there will be 37 more: 21 from Córdoba and 16 from its neighbor Santa Fe. The complete work (Stage I and II) will benefit 83 localities, that is, more than 1 million inhabitants.
