Quarterly figures: Tesla roughly met expectations in the first quarter

Tesla does not disappoint the industry – and delivers as expected. The compact cars Model 3 and Model Y remain the core of the business.

The electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla handed over as many vehicles to customers in the first quarter as experts had predicted. The group, led by US billionaire Elon Musk, brought 422,875 vehicles to customers in the first three months of the year, the company announced on Sunday. Industry experts had expected an average of 421,000 vehicles.

The compact cars Model 3 and Model Y are still the basis of the Tesla business. Of these, 412,180 vehicles were delivered in the first quarter, as Tesla announced. The more expensive and larger Model S and Model X cars made up the remainder at 10,695.
