The Secretary of Commerce presented the new prices that will be available in the large supermarket chains in the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires (AMBA).
The Commerce secretaryin coordination with the Association of United Supermarkets (ASU) and the main suppliers of the sector, updated the basket for fruits and vegetables within the framework of Fair Pricesthe program that seeks to reduce the expectation of inflation and price stability in the short term.

The initiative that fights inflation establishes a price guideline of 3.2% monthly average until June 30 from 2023 and includes 15 sectors of the economy: Mass Consumption, Clothing, Footwear, Home, Construction, Cell Phones, Small Appliances, Education, School Basket, Industrial Supplies, Textiles, Motorcycles, Bicycles, Medicines and Catalog Sales.


The Secretariat informed it through an official statement: “This basket will maintain its fixed prices for a month, with the aim of bring relief to the pockets of Argentine men and women and provide orderpredictability and availability of supply in the sector”.

These products and prices will be available in the large supermarket chains in the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area (AMBA) from April 5 to 30. Regarding the March basket, it should be noted that the potato and the onion lowered their priceas well as the addition of two products, pear and pumpkin, in this expansion.
The Government will maintain the policy of agreements to combat inflation that in March, according to the consultants, varied in the Consumer’s price index and was around 7%.
