Pöttinger Entsorgungstechnik, based in St. Georgen near Grieskirchen, is setting the course for the future: On April 1, Maximilan Pöttinger took over as managing director and shareholder from his father Klaus Pöttinger. The fifth generation is now at the helm of the family business.
The 34-year-old mechanical engineer joined the group of companies in 2020 as a controller.
Pöttinger Entsorgungstechnik produces press containers, screw compactors and baling presses for crushing and compacting waste and recyclable materials as well as fermenter systems and processing systems for biogas production. The company’s goal is to make the waste disposal industry more efficient and to digitize it: The portfolio includes the falconic system, for example, which garbage compactors can use to communicate with the operator, for example about how full they are and when they have to be picked up and emptied. This avoids unnecessary emptying and relieves traffic.
230 employees work in 28 countries: they achieved sales of 25 million euros in the 2021/22 financial year.
