New investigations into the largest dairy farmer

The largest dairy farmer in Austria, John Konrad from Pfaffing, is still in the focus of the judiciary. Since last week, the public prosecutor’s office in Wels has been investigating suspected violations of the prohibition law, as the prosecution confirms. The Office for the Protection of the Constitution had been commissioned with surveys. Konrad, who is also a spokesman for the Austrian Agricultural Community (AGÖ), which is critical of the chamber, is said to have posted a picture and text with a Nazi reference in his WhatsApp status, which thousands of people can see, on March 17 – hence the accusation of re-activation. The report was anonymous. “It’s a fake, I would never do something like that,” says Konrad: “It’s a bottomless impudence that someone here wants to harm me.” Who should be behind it? “I don’t know, but of course I’m in the public eye and I criticize the current farming system.”

As reported, criminal proceedings against Konrad are already underway. He is accused of suspicion of incitement to hatred with anti-Semitic content, this is also about a posting in WhatsApp status (previous year). Konrad’s old mobile phone is currently being checked. In both cases the presumption of innocence applies.
