Social: Energy price flat rate paid to two million students

The implementation of the measure was initially delayed. Two million students and technical students have now applied for and received the 200-euro energy price lump sum.

Three weeks after the start of the nationwide application platform for the 200-euro energy price flat rate for students and technical school students, two million affected people have now submitted an application.

Almost as many have already received the money. This is the result of figures published on the “Einmalpayment200.de” page in the morning. Around 399 million euros have now been paid out.

Since March 15, around 3.5 million students and technical students have been able to apply nationwide. The money is intended to relieve the sharp rise in energy and food prices. The energy price flat rate was announced by the traffic light coalition in September last year. The fact that it took so long to implement this March had triggered sharp criticism.
