The Ministry of Energy highlighted today that it has “54 electrical transmission and distribution works underway throughout the country that will generate nearly 5,000 kilometers of new high-voltage lines, within the framework of the Federal Electric Transportation Plan, which seeks to reactivate projects paralyzed and promote new energy infrastructure works”.
I also highlight that “the vast majority of the provinces have this type of works that, with funds from the national State, will serve to improve the quality of the electrical energy that reaches homes, businesses, factories, institutions and all kinds of productive activities.” ”.
Chaco, Buenos Aires, Santa Cruz, Catamarca, La Rioja, Tucumán, Chubut, Misiones, Neuquén, Formosa and Río Negro are some of the provinces where electricity transmission and distribution works are being carried out, the Ministry reported in a statement.
This year, Energía plans to reach a total of 4,988 kilometers of power grid, and 6,318 megawatts (MVA) of transformation capacity.
“Investment in electrical infrastructure is essential for the development of Argentina, and carrying out these works will significantly contribute to strengthening the electrical transmission and distribution network, improving the quality and reliability of electrical supply throughout the country,” he said. the Secretary of Energy, Flavia Royon, who highlighted the federal policy of the energy area in terms of works.
Likewise, laying works were completed in the Buenos Aires districts of Ensenada, San Vicente, Benito Juárez, Henderson, General Villegas, and in municipalities within San Juan, Chaco, and Misiones.
“More than 1,600 kilometers have been completed and are in full execution, so it will serve to strengthen our country’s high-voltage system,” explained Santiago Yanotti, Undersecretary of Electric Power, who specified that 3,350 kilometers of lines are to be executed from this year.
For this 2023, it is expected that several works of great scope and impact will come into service in the Argentine Interconnection System, which will contribute significantly to the strengthening of the electricity transmission and distribution network.
One of them is the work on Atlántica Sur, which will allow the electrical interconnection of the Patagonian region with the rest of the country, thus improving the energy integration of Argentina.
“In these months we have already activated works that were paralyzed, we managed financing and tendered works that will add 6,318 MVA in high voltage lines (LAT) and transformer stations (ET). This is essential to give more reliability to the Argentine system, incorporate more energy and enable the development of our country”, remarked Royon.
Another important work that is expected to be launched is the 25 de Mayo Transformer Station, which will allow access to the electrical transport network of an important region inhabited by more than a million residents of 25 de Mayo, Bragado, Chivilcoy , Saladillo and other more than 30 parties of the Province.
Likewise, the bidding documents for the execution of works in Catamarca, Salta and Santiago del Estero were launched, and those of Tucumán will be published shortly.
Meanwhile, the Bahía Blanca – Mar Del Plata Interconnection project (Bahía Blanca ET – Vivoratá ET – Complementary Works) has the objective of the Atlantic Interconnection and required a laying of approximately 444 kilometers of line.
“The new electrical infrastructure will improve the efficiency in the distribution of electrical energy in the region and satisfy the growing demand for energy. In addition, new substations and high-tech equipment will be installed to guarantee the safety and reliability of the electrical system,” concluded the holder of the energy portfolio.
