The trend of buy in supermarkets, dietetics and specialized storessa through delivery applications continues to rise and according to a recent private study four out of ten people currently make supermarket purchases through apps.
According to data from the study “Barometer of the e-commerce” Conducted by the consulting firm Quiddity, a sample of 1,500 cases nationwide, 48% of consumers buy at least once a week and 90% assured that they expect to increase their orders under this modality for the current year.
Even those who have not yet used this purchase channel plan to use it in the coming months (75%).
According to the survey carried out by the consultant, 34% stated that they had increased their orders through this modality, while 46% maintained their purchase level of the last two years.
According to the study, among the main advantages that Argentines highlight when making supermarket purchases through applications are saving time (51%), discounts and promotions (33%), ease of use of the platform (31%), the speed to find the products that are needed (31%) and the possibility of receiving the order and receiving it in an hour (29%).
Likewise, convenience is one of the aspects that stands out the most, since, for more than 60% of those consulted in the survey, placing supermarket orders through apps is a key solution to organize the purchases of the week or solve a need of the moment.
Those who buy fresh products through apps the most are young people from generation Z (those born between 1994-2010), who expressed high confidence when buying in this category.
Among the categories most in demand by users, fresh food (fruits, vegetables, meat and dairy products), beverages, and cleaning and personal care items stand out.
“Many times going to shop in person means an investment of time that is divided into the transfer to the place, the journey in the gondolas to find the products or waiting in line to pay,” explained Débora Epifanio, director of Consumption Massive for rappi.
He affirmed that “today there are more and more Argentines who use the applications to make their supermarket purchases because they value the shopping experience and the comfort of receiving it at home.”
