The Neuquén government will seek to boost forage activity through technical assistance and financing to the sector, with the aim of promoting new planted areas and improving productivity, as announced today by the provincial government.

The Minister of Production and Industry of Neuquén, Facundo López Raggi, explained that access to financing will be through a “return system in kind that allows producers to acquire machinery that is returned at its value with the delivery of high-quality bales. quality, which the provincial government then allocates to assist producers affected by drought or snowfall.”

“The Ministry assigns this equipment to different producers, so that it allows them to take a leap in productive efficiency; We seek that they can continue to grow. We have replicated this scheme to be able to produce fodder in a decentralized manner in all the valleys where there is a possibility of doing so”, he pointed out.

Likewise, the minister indicated that the province needs to expand local production “given the cost of transportation” that it represents for the sector.

In this sense, “the main forage production sector, which is Plottier, Senillosa and Arroyito, already has its forage group, they are all working together to expand capacity and there is much greater production. We aim to continue adding value with meat production” , specified López Raggi.

Through a statement, the local government explained that “since 2018 up to now, fourteen tools have been delivered for the development of fodder production in the area, including tractors, balers, round balers and mowers, which represent 129,698 bales for the State to provincial distribute according to need”, it was indicated.
