“The results of the second edition of PreViaje fill us with expectations: we have already tripled the figures of last year, which had been a total success”, highlighted the Minister of Tourism and Sports, Matías Lammens. The official predicted that “in November and December, Argentina will overflow with tourists. We are going to experience a historic season.”
According to the portfolio survey, nearly one million tourists used the benefit for their getaways during November and December 2021, which generates great expectations of reactivation for the sector. In this sense, over the last long weekend, 4,250,000 Argentines mobilized, “which represented the most important tourist movement of the last ten years on this date”the statement reported.
The most chosen destinations so far are the provinces of Buenos Aires (21% of those who used the program), Río Negro (19%), Santa Cruz (10%), Neuquén (9%), Córdoba (9%), Mendoza (9%), Tierra del Fuego, Antarctica and the South Atlantic Islands (7%), Misiones (6%), Salta (6%) and Chubut (4%).
In the framework of the Federal Cabinet meeting that took place last week in Chubut, President Alberto Fernández spoke with tourism providers, who expressed their enthusiasm for the prospects for the season.
“We want Argentina to be filled with tourism throughout the country this summer,” said the President in Puerto Madryn.
PreViaje is a State investment in tourism through which 50% of credit expenses are returned to those who buy their vacations in advance (and 70% to PAMI affiliates).
When to upload vouchers for the 2021-2022 season
The Ministry of Tourism maintains the online channel enabled to upload the vouchers and invoices for travel purchases in November to obtain the benefit of the Pre-trip program, the return line of up to 50% in the amount of tourist packages in the interior of the country.
For trips until December 31, the deadline has already ended. But now, the trips to be made in January and February remain. Invoices must be uploaded to MI ARGENTINA or Previaje.gob.ar
- Services to be provided between January 1 and 31, 2022: vouchers can be uploaded until November 20, 2021, inclusive;
- Services to be provided as of February 1, 2022: vouchers can be uploaded up to and including December 31, 2021.
The returned money can be used from November 1 – depending on the purchase – and until December 31, 2022 inclusive.
