The Agrarian Federation mobilizes and demands a bailout for producers

A delegation of producers and leaders of the Argentine Agrarian Federation (FAA) The city of Buenos Aires is mobilized today to present a series of claims that includes the application of fiscal relief measures, financing policy, the implementation of multi-risk insurance and phased withdrawal of export rights.

In the petition prepared by the agrarian entity, which was presented to the Secretary of Agriculture, Juan José Bahillo, a “rescue plan for small and medium-sized producers affected by drought, frost and hail” is claimed.

The FAA proposals focus on obtaining tax benefits, such as the exemption of IIGG advances for the 2023/2024 period, suspension of VAT withholdings, exemption from the Tax on Credits and Debits, suspension of execution trials and lifting of blockades in the current accounts of the producers.

On the other hand, they request credits at zero rate to reactivate production and the elimination of BCRA 7720 resolution that makes credit rates for cereal possession more expensive.

Likewise, they seek to implement multi-risk insurance to alleviate the adverse effects caused by the climate crisis, a phased withdrawal of export duties for the first tons of production, and measures that favor the productive development of small and medium-sized producers.

Under the slogan “LET US HEAR!”, the FAA delegation has scheduled a meeting with Juan José Bahillo, at the Ministry of Agriculture, to then address the National Congress.

we need urgent response regarding the salvage, which is essential for the producer to continue in the activity,” said Achetoni in dialogue with the press after the meeting.

“Year after year we have been seeing that 5,000 producers leave the productive circuit. If there is no bailout, we are estimating that this year there may be a mass disappearance which unfortunately can be around a much higher figure of up to 30,000 producers,” warned Achetoni.

“Concrete answers we knew we were not going to takebut we also feel the sensation that the answers will not be tailored to the needs“added Achetoni in dialogue with the press after the meeting.

“The secretary is aware that the situation is very adverse,” Achetoni acknowledged and added: “The proposals we brought may reach the study.”

He also met this morning with representatives of the Civic Coalition and the Federal Interblock. In the afternoon, there will be meetings with Javier Miley, legislators of PRO and of the Radical Civic Union, Federal Meeting and Federal Evolution, to close at 6:00 p.m. with representatives of the front of all.
