A delegation of producers and FFA leaders traveled to the city of Buenos Aires to present a series of claims that includes the application of tax relief measures, financing policy, among others.

Among the proposals, the FAA leaders listed: For each hectare cultivated with soybeans, corn, wheat, sorghum, sunflower, barley or rye, for the first 300 cultivated hectares, producers must receive a payment of $150,000; for each cultivated hectare with productions from regional economies, a payment of $300,000 and for each bovine animal owned by the producer, for the first 300 heads, a payment of $100,000. They also ask that the situation of pig and poultry producers be considered with specific measures.
Additionally, the FAA proposed “tax relief measures valid until June 30, 2024 related to income tax, VAT and check tax; together with the elimination of withholdings to all regional economies and, for traditional crops, a gradual withdrawal of withholdings per tons produced”.
Achettoni highlighted the meeting as “positive” and noted that “We have agreed on several points and there was a lot of understanding”, to add that “now it is important to take action”.
Meanwhile, Rodríguez pointed out: “We are working on projects such as multi-risk insurance or the gradual lowering of withholdings; the dialogue with the Agrarian Federation has been serious and constructive. It is essential that the non-government majority in Congress seriously commit to supporting the countryside and take care of the producers of the whole country”.
