The government wants the national highway tolls they will double between next May and August and, in addition, he wants the values of the automatic and manual payment rates to be unified.
To this end, the National Highway Administration will start with public hearings to raise the price in the cabins of the national routes and the entrances to the City of Buenos Aires.
These are routes managed by the state company Corredores Viales and by Caminos del Río Uruguay and the adjustment will also be applied to the metropolitan highways whose concession is in the hands of Autopistas del Sol y del Oeste and the state company in charge of Autopista Riccheri.
The hearings must be formally convened before the end of April for those interested in participating to register.
Vialidad announced that, in addition to defining the percentage increase, the objective of these hearings is “to unify the values of the rates for the public from the automatic payment modalities to those of the manual mode in all toll stations, concluding the differentiation rate for the automatic payment method”.
The agency seeks to authorize a 50% increase as of May 1, plus another 40% from August: if this adjustment is approved, toll prices will suffer a cumulative increase of 110%.
By way of example, if the increase is authorized for cars or trucks with two axles and up to 2.10 meters in height, at the tolls of Bancalari, Márquez, Tigre, Camino del Buen Ayre, Route 197, Route 202 and Camino Real ( North Access), the toll will go from $60 in non-peak hours and from $80 in peak hours to $100 and $150, respectively, in May and to $150 and $200 in August.
To this direct increase, the reduction of the electronic payment benefit will have to be applied, which is 15% for non-peak hours and 5% for the rest.
