The injection molding machine manufacturer Engel based in Schwertberg (district Perg) achieved sales of 1.7 billion euros in the past financial year (as of March 31), an increase of 13 percent compared to the previous year. This is the highest turnover in the company’s history, as Engel announced in a broadcast today, Friday. The automotive industry was the key driver of growth in the past financial year: According to Engel, it has proven to be “a strong economic driver”, especially in Asia as well as in Latin and North America. One driver is electromobility: The instrument panel inside the vehicle, the side panels, the front of the vehicle – all of this is increasingly being made of plastic injection molding, for what Angel designs and builds the facilities.
The medical and packaging sectors also developed well. In North America and Europe, the demand for the manufacture of products for diabetes therapy is undiminished, and in Europe it is above all the trend towards sustainable packaging concepts that has led to investments.
